JUNE 12, 2012 / BY CAMPAIGN STAFF ColorOfChange applauds Johnson & Johnson's decision to ditch ALEC

Today pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson announced that it will no longer fund the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). After standing by the shadowy policy group for months, the company finally responded to the thousands of voices demanding they leave ALEC. In a press release, ColorOfChange applauded the corporations decision noting that:

"the announcement comes a week after ColorOfChange launched radio ads targeting African Americans in Chicago, DC, New Brunswick, NJ, and Sanford, FL and exposing the connection between Johnson & Johnson and the policy group, which has pushed legislation that hurts black communities such as voter suppression bills and so-called Stand your Ground laws"

Johnson & Johnson becomes the 19th company to drop ALEC since ColorOfChange launched its campaign to stop corporate funded voter suppression late last year.
