This is the letter we'll send to Senator John McCain and RNC Chairman Robert M. Duncan unless you create your own statement.

Dear Senator John McCain and RNC Chairman Robert M. Duncan,

I just learned that Republicans in Michigan are planning to use foreclosure lists to keep struggling homeowners from voting, and I'm outraged. You stand to benefit from these practices and have been completely silent. This is simply unacceptable.

This strategy is cruel -- kicking those hardest hit by the economy while they're down -- and it is also illegal. As the leaders of the Republican Party, you have a responsibility to stop these illegal voter suppression tactics in Michigan first, but also across the country.

I'm calling on you to publicly denounce the use of foreclosure lists as a basis for challenging voters and demand that local, state and national Republican party leaders forbid this illegal and shameful strategy.

Signed,

[Your name]
