Baltimore, MD — Today, ColorOfChange.org and Daily Kos delivered a combined 100,000 signatures thanking Maryland’s State Attorney Marilyn Mosby for her definitive action to prosecute the police responsible for Freddie Gray’s tragic death and also calling for charges against all protesters to be dropped.

ColorofChange.org, the largest online civil rights group in the country, delivered more than 58,000 signatures. “In a country where law enforcement are almost always let of the hook for brutalizing and racially profiling Black and brown people, Prosecutor Mosby’s leadership must be applauded,” said Executive Director Rashad Robinson. Robinson continued, “Support for Mosby is all the more critical with the Fraternal Order of Police increasing its attempt to thwart accountability and derail this case. We stand by Prosecutor Mosby in securing justice for Freddie Gray’s family, as well as the hundreds of protesters brave enough to envision and demand a better Baltimore.”

Daily Kos, a progressive daily weblog, also delivered an additional 56,000 signatures. Monique Teal, associate campaign director or Daily Kos said, “State’s Attorney Mosby’s actions were the type of leadership we’ve been demanding. The Daily Kos community applauds her bold stance and is grateful to finally see a shift in how police brutality cases are treated by the justice system. We hope to see her continue to use her leadership in releasing the nonviolent protesters and look forward to supporting her in the future.”
