ColorOfChange.org continues fight for Troy Davis’ life

Oakland, CA – Below is the reaction of ColorOfChange.org Executive Director Rashad Robinson to the news that the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole rejected clemency for Troy Davis:

“We’re deeply saddened and outraged by the Georgia Pardon Board’s decision to let Troy Davis die. It is unimaginable how they could have come to this decision in the face of all the evidence which indicates that Troy Davis didn’t commit the crime of which he was accused. More than 100,000 ColorOfChange members clearly and strongly said that killing a man who may be innocent is not justice. Our community will continue to fight this decision and tell Troy’s story as long as we can.”

ColorOfChange.org intends to ask the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole to reconsider their decision, as well as to continue calls for Chatham County District Attorney Larry Chisolm to request that Davis’ death warrant be vacated. With clemency rejected, Troy Davis is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection at 7:00pm Eastern Time in Jackson, GA.
