COLOR OF CHANGE PAC ENDORSES VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS FOR PRESIDENT

NATIONAL – Today, Color Of Change PAC is proud to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for the 47th President of the United States of America. Jamarr Brown, Executive Director of Color Of Change’s PAC, issues the following statement:

“We are thrilled to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the next President of the United States. This election, we have the opportunity to make history and elect the best candidate, one who will continue to defend racial justice and win the progress we deserve.

As Vice President of the United States and throughout her illustrious career, Kamala Harris has consistently demonstrated her unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and opportunity for all. She has been pivotal in advancing key legislative efforts that support the economic and societal improvement of Black lives, including the historic American Rescue Plan, which provided critical relief to millions of Americans during the pandemic and significantly reduced child poverty.

Her leadership in championing maternal health initiatives for Black women, including challenging state governments to expand coverage for postpartum coverage from 2 months to a year, which significantly helps new Black parents and caretakers provide for their child. She was also instrumental in the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act, which helped to not only reduce the price of high cost prescription drugs, previously out of reach for so many Black communities, but also provided provisions to support small businesses, which are a vital part of economic growth and stability in many Black communities. 

Vice President Harris has also been a champion for reproductive rights across the country, including leading the fight to restore Roe Vs. Wade and end the Trump bans on abortion. We also cannot ignore Vice President Harris’ commitment to criminal justice reform throughout her legal and political career. From implementing the Back on Track program in California to co-sponsoring the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to her countless efforts supporting federal sentencing reform, Vice President Harris’ work as District Attorney and Attorney General of California will be instrumental to bringing about the structural changes necessary in our criminal justice system.”

“The looming threats posed by Project 2025 underscore the urgency of this election. Donald Trump, JD Vance and their extremist allies are working to roll back critical protections and advancements in civil rights, education, environmental justice, and social equity that will hurt Black communities for decades to come. Over the years, I’ve worked hand and hand with Vice President Harris and experienced her leadership in action. I understand how essential she will be in combating these extremist threats and to continue moving our nation forward. As she said during her speech on Monday, July 22nd, ‘we cannot go back and we will not go back.’

Kamala Harris’ proven track record and her vision for a more just, and equitable America – one where Black communities can live, thrive, and prosper – make her the ideal candidate to lead our nation into a brighter future. Electing Kamala Harris as President is the best path to uphold our values, safeguard our democracy, and ensure justice is real for Black people. We are proud to stand with her in this pivotal moment for our country and our communities.

I am confident in saying VP Harris’ proven track record and her vision for a more just and equitable country will lead our nation into a brighter future. With Kamala Harris as president, we stand the best chance at holding the presidential administration accountable to their promises, keeping Black organizers at the decision-making table, and accelerating the fight for real change for all communities.

From today until Election Day, Color of Change PAC will run a layered communications campaign, focusing on enlisting thousands of volunteers, across the country, aiming to reach unlikely, irregular Black voters while also combining digital and paid media to mobilize hundreds of thousands of Black voters in key swing states. Together we can elect Kamala Harris as the 47th President of the United States.”
