COLOR OF CHANGE PARTNERS WITH LOCAL ORGANIZERS ACROSS MULTIPLE STATES FOR “HANDS OFF!” — A NATIONAL DAY OF PROTEST AGAINST TRUMP ADMINISTRATION POLICIES
April 5 Expected to Be the Largest Single Day of Action Since the Start of Trump’s Second Term
NATIONAL – On April 5, Color of Change will join forces with organizers in Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Wisconsin in a national day of protest. Color Of Change is sponsoring a series of local events hosted by groups such as the Hampton Branch NAACP, DJs at the Polls, and Center for Common Ground as a part of Hands Off!, a nationwide day of mass mobilization. This coordinated action, expected to engage over 250,000 people across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., in unified opposition to the actions of the Trump administration’s ongoing attacks on critical safety-net programs that millions of Black families depend on.
Color Of Change members and staff will be on the ground at rallies nationwide, including the flagship Hands Off! rally in Washington D.C., where Interim Executive Director Portia Allen-Kyle is one of the many featured speakers.
Portia Allen-Kyle, Interim Executive Director of Color Of Change, issued the following statement:
“The Trump Administration has repeatedly shown its disregard for the well-being of Black communities. From healthcare and education to food assistance, they are willing to sacrifice the basic needs of our elders, children, and working-class families to serve their own interests. We will not be silent. We refuse to stay silent. On April 5, we join thousands across the country, to demand: Hands off our care, hands off our rights, hands off our communities.”
This moment marks a pivotal surge in collective action as communities mobilize to defend their rights and futures. Color Of Change stands in solidarity with organizers and everyday people who are taking a stand across the country. A full list of Color Of Change sponsored events can be found here.
