Color Of Change Asserts That Trump Indictment Points to the Importance of Progressive Prosecutors

The following statement is attributed to Rashad Robinson, Color Of Change PAC Spokesperson:

“Prosecutors are the most powerful people in the criminal justice system and far too often they enable the rich and powerful to play by a different set of rules. For years, Color Of Change PAC has been working with a broad movement of criminal justice organizations and advocates to support and elect progressive prosecutors and ensure a more fair justice system.Former President Trump has consistently called out and spread misinformation about our work because he wants a justice system that only prosecutes poor people and communities of color. Trump’s attacks and misinformation have helped create a climate intent on threatening and trying to intimidate those fighting for fairness and racial justice, but we are proud of our work and impact. Color Of Change PAC worked to help elect and hold progressive prosecutor Alvin Bragg accountable once in office. We have seen the fruits of our labor, not only with Bragg’s prosecution of Trump but with thousands of decisions that he has made and millions of decisions made by progressive prosecutors we helped to elect nation-wide. As the 2024 election season heats up, we are urging people to join our movement for justice. Progressive prosecutors are on the ballot across the country this fall, and voters have the power to ensure their local criminal justice system is fair, under these prosecutors’ leadership.”
