More than One Hundred to Protest Outside Rupert Murdoch’s NYC Home – Join Calls for Congressional Investigation Over Phone Hacking

The African American civil rights organization, ColorofChange.org, will lead a protest outside the home of embattled News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch this Thursday at 12:30 pm EST, joining the call for a Congressional investigation. Murdoch, who’s FOX News has long been criticized for race-baiting and unethical journalistic practices, is in the midst of afirestorm over charges of phone-hacking and corruption.

“Rupert Murdoch will do anything for a profit, from dividing Americans through race-baiting on FOX News to phone-hacking in order to get viewers and sell newspapers,” said Rashad Robinson, Executive Director of ColorOfChange. “We are standing up to say that we will no longer allow our communities to be attacked by a man more interested in profits than American values.”

Last week ColorOfChange sent more than 110,000 petitions to Fox News chief RogerAiles calling on him to fire Eric Bolling for appealing to racial stereotypes when he accused President Obama of “chugging forties” in Ireland and inviting “hoods to the hizzouse.”

The organization also called on Murdoch and Ailes to fire Bolling in an open letter published as a full page ad in the New York Daily News.
