New York, NY — “The NBA, its owners and sponsors have looked the other way for more than a decade despite increasing evidence of Donald Sterling’s racist practices and problematic ideology — from complaints of workplace discrimination to housing discrimination. We applaud Commissioner Silver’s decision to ban, fine, and urge the forced sale of the team. It is a clear, strong statement and a bold first step in the right direction though it does nothing to change the reality that Donald Sterling remains the owner of an NBA team.

“Over the past 24 hours, over a dozen corporations have dropped their support of the LA Clippers. These corporations are sending a powerful message that this sort of racism is not acceptable. Any corporate brand that remains visible during Game 5 at Staples Center does so at the risk of showing support for Sterling’s dehumanizing views.”

ColorOfChange has collected over 50,000 signatures in two days calling on corporations to drop their support of the Clippers.
