COLOR OF CHANGE ANNOUNCES KELLE ROZELL AS NEW CHIEF MARKETING & STORYTELLING OFFICER

Kelle Rozell’s 18 years of experience in the media and entertainment industries will help drive Color Of Change’s efforts in advancing racial equity and holding industry leaders accountable

FEBRUARY 1, 2022 — Color Of Change, the nation’s largest online racial justice organization, today announced the hire of Kelle Rozell, its new Chief Marketing & Storytelling Officer (CMSO).

In this unique role, Rozell will oversee the work of multiple departments focused on advancing the narrative and culture change work of Color Of Change, including taking the lead on marketing efforts, partnerships and the organization’s growing #ChangeIndustries initiative that builds racial justice into entertainment industries. Additionally, as CMSO, Rozell will lead on the execution of the organization’s core brand, content strategy, and organizational values. As an experienced leader and bridge-builder, Rozell and her team will be tasked with amplifying Color Of Change’s wide-range of racial justice campaigns to ensure that target decision-makers take action to create long-lasting systemic change nationwide.

“I’m beyond excited to join the Color Of Change team, and look forward to the work we’ll accomplish to build real leverage and power for Black people across all sectors of daily life,” said Kelle Rozell, chief marketing and storytelling officer at Color Of Change. “Throughout my career, I have been very intentional about advancing racial equity and elevating Black stories, and I knew I wanted to bring my experience to an organization with these values at its core. It’s an honor to join Color of Change, and I’m looking forward to working alongside this team of passionate campaigners and activists.”

Prior to joining Color Of Change, Rozell was a marketing executive for ABC News. Throughout her time working for major record labels and television networks, Rozell has established herself as a seasoned marketer and storyteller, creating award-winning campaigns for companies such as A&E TV, truTV (Turner Broadcasting/WarnerMedia), and VICELAND (Vice Media)

While navigating corporate America, Rozell has always championed diverse narratives and used moments and positions of power to advance and advocate for underrepresented voices,  from pushing for multicultural intern classes, to ensuring content reflects diverse demographics. In February of 2021, Rozell and her team launched the Black Dollar Index, a Black consumer advocacy platform that sits at the intersection of economic and racial justice.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kelle to Color Of Change,” said Color Of Change President, Rashad Robinson. “Kelle reflects the ethos of the organization in everything that she does. As our organization continues to grow, we are confident that Kelle will be a valuable asset in our mission to uplift Black stories, profiles, and narratives as Color Of Change works to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people.”
