Racial Justice Organization Endorses Markey’s Net Neutrality Vote

NEW YORK – Color Of Change, the nation’s largest online racial justice organization, issued the following statement in support of the Congressional Review Act resolution introduced by Senator Markey and 39 other co-sponsors to force Congress to take a vote to overturn the Federal Communications Commission’s repeal of net neutrality.

Brandi Collins, Senior Campaign Director at Color Of Change:

“The FCC’s vote to destroy net neutrality last month has put our civil rights at serious risk, but Congress now has an opportunity to protect our free and open internet by passing a Congressional Review Act resolution. This legislation gives Congress the power to overturn the FCC’s repeal of net neutrality, and ensure an equal internet for all communities. Without congressional action to protect net neutrality, everyday users will experience an internet where access to some of their favorite online services is slowed to a snail’s pace and countless Black activists and other social justice advocates will find their voices silenced because they can’t pay internet service providers for faster bandwidths. It is now up to Congress to protect a free and equal internet for all, and we will continue to make our voices heard.”
