ColorOfChange.org Calls for National Ban of Armed Security At Whole Foods
Color Of Change, the nation’s largest online racial justice organization, issued the following statement in response to Amazon’s removal of some white supremacist products from its platforms.
Brandi Collins-Dexter, Senior Campaign Director at Color Of Change:
Amazon took a small first step toward removing white supremacist propaganda on its platform. But this falls far short of what is needed : Amazon continues to profit off the sale of white supremacist products and enable the spread of violent ideologies. Since Amazon’s announcement, Color Of Change found numerous Nazi products – including a shirt with Pepe the Frog dressed as a Nazi, a Neo-Nazi “Kek” flag, and Nazi Totenkopf patches – as well as an extensive library of white supremacist propaganda on Kindle still available for purchase. Sales from these products will be used to fund white supremacist organizations’ terrorism against Black, Muslim, immigrant and marginalized people.
Color Of Change members have been and continue to aggressively push Amazon to stop providing a platform for white supremacist propaganda. We also strongly urge Amazon to meet with racial justice and civil rights organizations to develop systems to ensure nobody continues profiting from the trafficking of hate.
